Physical education has recently been introduced as a compulsory subject of studies in Secondary / Higher Secondary central Schools following CBSC course and the private schools opting for CBSC course have also introduced it. In Assam, it is yet to be thought as a subject of studies. However, the state Govt has been requested time to time to introduced physical Education as a compulsory subject in Secondary Schools. A few states of NE region have already introduced it as a compulsory subject in Secondary School. Moreover, in Assam alone there are around 5000 vacant post of Physical Instructor.

Abhiruchi Institute of Physical Education (AIPE) is the First College on Physical Education in Assam.We are glad to inform you the AIPE has successfully completed three years of its existence. The institute has been conducting

1.       B.P.Ed (Bachelor of Physical Education)diploma course of one year duration after graduation

2.       B.P.E (Bachelor of Physical Education) degree course of 3 year duration after 10+2 since the academic year 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 respectively.

All courses are permitted and affiliated by the Gauhati University.

1.       Separate Hostel Facilities for Boys and Girls are available.

2.       A good number of Books on Physical Education, Health Education, Anatomy, Physiology ,Sports Medicine etc  have been stocked in the institute’s Library.
