Established in 1955 to Promote Vocational and Commercial Education in Assam, KCVT has been regarded as the pioneer vocational Institute in the North Eastern Region.The Institute has been providing quality education ever since and trained 1000 of students who were suitably absorbed in Govt and Private Organization.

About the Founder of the Institute:

Late Devananda Bhorali , a freedom fighter , academician and social worker was regarded as the pioneer of Vocational Training in the North Eastern Region. He established Kumrup College of Vocational Training in the year 1955.He established the first commercial and vocational institute at Jorhat in the Year 1931,followed by another Institute at Nowgong in the Year 1950. Late Bhorali also establish vocational College High School and national Telegraph Girls High School at Jorhat.
